Dangerous Writing Workshop
Learn To Write Dangerously For A Rich Narrative And Even Richer Healing
Join The Workshop â¨
You don't want to write surface. You can't feel that kind of writing and your readers can't feel it either.
Â
You long to write your story for healing and you want it to be deep. You want to feel what you write, and you want your readers to feel it too.
It's vulnerable writing you want to do, and you know that. You want it to be vulnerable. The truth is, you long to write because parts of you feel silent, heavy or taboo. You think giving voice to those parts and the moments that won't leave you alone will heal you, and you're right. It will.
But you don't know how to write to achieve this â which is really normal. Because it's a blend of genres we're talking about: one part of the approach is somatic and intuitive, the other calls for a little craft.
In this workshop, I'll teach you the craft and give you the opportunity to practice it, pen to page. â¨
This workshop is your opportunity
To go to a part of yourself that is tender, sore; a part that feels silent, heavy, taboo. To a moment of your story that won't leave you alone.
Â
You'll learn four, key craft techniques adapted from Tom Spanbauer's Dangerous Writing approach, woven with my own somatic support.
You'll learn how to go onto the body, burnt tongue writing technique, how character (including yours, as the narrator â¨) lies in the destruction of expected sentences and to go where it hurts.
Whether you're writing for yourself or writing something you'd like to share someday, allowing yourself to write dangerously is how your narrative becomes rich, and your healing through writing it even richer.

We'll begin with the prompt:
Write about a moment after which you were different.
Â
I'll teach on craft and we'll have discussion, after which you'll be invited to write 2 - 3 pages to this prompt alongside the other participants. That writing will become the piece you workshop for the rest of our time.
During our first weekend, each participant will have the opportunity to read their piece aloud and receive feedback in the form of where you have opportunities to enrich your writing, unpack moments and weave dangerous writing craft techniques in.Â
Join The WorkshopWhat you'll get inside this
Dangerous Writing Workshop
You'll learn to write viscerally â paying attention to sensory, touchable, tactile details that give you, and a potential reader, a physical, gut reaction. (Writing on the body)
You'll learn to play with language â saying things ever so slightly wrong to force your reader (and you) to slow down and pay attention. (Burnt tongue)
You'll find your honest voice, practicing that the best writing doesn't pretty anything up. It honors the truth of your experience. (Character lies in the destruction of the sentence)
You'll be allowed to go where it hurts and write honestly about that place. Your result being a beautiful piece about a reclaimed moment and a mended heart. (Go where it hurts)

Join the workshopHello hello, I'm Jennifer - Certified Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy Coach and Somatic Writing Coach for sensitive souls but mostly? Writer at heart.
Â
I am a trauma-carrying, highly sensitive INFJ empath who's been helping sensitive souls find healing through writing their stories since 2019.Â
I have a gift for helping the deeply sensitive give voice to their more vulnerable parts and moments of story, which I know through personal experience is where our richest writing and richest healing reside.
In this workshop, I'll help you give voice to a vulnerable moment of your story in a creative and healing way. You'll feel empowered in your craft and leave with a beautiful piece you'll be proud of. You'll develop confidence for writing dangerously, and have an embodied experience of just how good it feels to allow yourself to write this way. đş

P.S. Feedback you can feel safe with.
Â
I want you to feel completely safe sharing your writing with our group (which you'll do through reading your piece out loud).
The main person who will be offering you feedback is me, but you'll also receive gentle, supportive feedback from our group. Â
We'll share what we love/celebrate about your writing, where you have opportunities to open and unpack, and where it might serve you to weave in some dangerous writing.
You'll then have a week to workshop your piece and in our second weekend, each member will share their final piece and be celebrated for their dangerous writing done. đ
